 REBLOOMING IRIS SOCIETY,
 SYMPOSIUM 2017
 Riley Probst, President
The Reblooming Iris Society (RIS) conducts an
annual symposium every year. It is similar to the
 AIS Tall Bearded Iris symposium
except it covers all classes that
rebloom. A ballot is enclosed with
the spring issue of the Reblooming
 Iris Recorder magazine. All RIS
 members are encouraged to vote
 the ballot by October 1.
 This past year (2017) found
 ‘Rosalie Figge’ (Jane McKnew 1993)
on the top of the Tall Bearded list. It
was followed by a three-way tie for
 second place between ‘Daughter Of
Stars’ (Don Spoon 2001), ‘Gate Of
 Heaven’ (Lloyd Zurbrigg 2004) and
 ‘Immortality’ (Lloyd Zurbrigg 1982).
 In the Border Bearded class
‘Rosalie Figge’ (Jane McKnew 1993, TB)
 ‘October Splendor’ (Gary Sides
1997) was first and ‘Autumn Wine’
 (Vincent Christopherson 2003)
 was second. In the Intermediate
 Bearded class ‘Low Ho Silver’
(Monty Byers 1989) was first and
 ‘Constant Companion’ (Connell
Marsh 1995) was second. In the
 Miniature Tall Bearded class ‘Lady
 Emma’ (Frank Jones 1986) was
first and ‘Holiday In Mexico’ (Riley
Probst 2012) was second. In the
 Standard Dwarf Bearded class
‘Jewel Baby’ (Earl Hall 1984) was
first and there was a two-way tie
 for second between ‘Forever Blue’
 (Chuck Chapman 1997) and ‘Plum
Wine’ (John Weiler 1985). In the Miniature Dwarf
Bearded class ‘Trimmed Velvet’ (Don Spoon 2006)
was first and ‘Forever Violet’ (Chuck Chapman 2002)
was second. In the Arilbred class ‘Walker Ross’ (Ross/
Chapman 1998) was first and ‘Chain Reaction’ (Richard
 Tasco 2007) was second.
‘Lady Emma’ (Frank Jones 1986, MTB)
For complete results in all classes, see the
Reblooming Iris Recorder Fall 2017 issue. If you would
like to vote in next year’s (2018) Reblooming Iris
Symposium, join the Reblooming Iris Society.
