Greetings

I’m delighted to welcome you to The American Iris Society.

You will discover that we are a diverse and interesting group. AIS includes iris fanciers of all ages and all levels of expertise, from novice to seasoned judges and hybridizers. We all enjoy sharing our love and knowledge of the rainbow flower. We take pride in being a friendly group and as you get to know us you will find many new friends among our members.

AIS consists of 24 geographically defined regions containing nearly 200 local iris societies. To see which one you’re in go to the AIS website www.irises.org. Feel free to contact your Regional Vice President for information on regional activities and local iris societies. Local clubs offer many interesting seasonal activities that may include iris shows, plant sales and talks by noted irisarians.

The Bulletin of The American Iris Society is published in January, April, July and October. Normally you can expect to receive those Bulletins late in the month of issue, but occasionally there may be a week or so delay. You will be receiving the next Bulletin in the cycle following activation of your membership.

The booklet, Basic Iris Culture will be sent shortly as a welcoming gift. It contains everything you need to know about how to grow and care for the various types of iris. If I can be of assistance in any way, now or in the future, I cordially invite you to contact me at the Membership Office.

Your Membership Identification number will be printed on the address label of the next Bulletin you receive along with the expiration date of this membership. Approximately four to six weeks before expiration you will receive a dues renewal notice to remind you that your membership is expiring.

We hope you enjoy your membership in our society.

Sincerely,

Tom Gormley
