In order to keep this a useful listing, outdated/non-functioning links are deleted and will have to be resubmitted. The listings are reviewed intermittently for content relevance and functionality.

AIS Initiatives: these are functions and activities directly related to the AIS

  • Official website of the AIS Foundation
  • AIS Internet Iris Checklist this is an on-line reference list of AIS registered irises which includes the ten year AIS checklist compilations and newer R&I (registrations and introductions) listings. This is an ongoing project. Follow the link and the instructions provided to get access to this useful information resource.
  • AIS Bulletin Index  another ongoing project to provide, in electronic form, an index of all articles in previous American Iris Society Bulletins. A very useful research reference tool.
  • AIS Youth Members  now have their own information website
  • Classroom Iris Project (CIP)  for schools/teachers/youth members. Iris gardening information for teachers and others to use in indoor/outdoor classroom projects.

  • Commercial links are received, reviewed, accepted and inserted into the AIS website with the following method and requirements:
    1. A request for a listing.
    Placing an AIS Bulletin ad does not automatically provide a Commercial Directory/Listing on the AIS website.
    2. An active internet website is required in order to have a useful and valid link in the Commercial Directory/Listing.
    3. Your business is required to be considered a
    "current AIS Bulletin advertiser/supporter". The following criteria define this term: a commercial concern that has published at least one or more paid advertisements in the AIS Bulletin in the preceding calendar year (2008) or the current calendar year (2009). 
    4.
    Please e-mail your request to the AIS website administrator aiswebsite@hotmail.com  Provide your full business name, your website internet URL address and a brief one sentence description of the iris related service offered. Additionally you must provide the AIS Bulletin date/issue number and page number on which your qualifying previous AIS Bulletin advertisement occurred.
  • Please note that the Commercial Directory/Listing is reviewed from time to time; listings with inactive/dead-end links are deleted; listings that are no longer a "current AIS Bulletin advertiser/supporter" are also deleted. Should your situation require it, you may re-submit your new and/or current information for a new listing.

  • To add your non-commercial iris related link, please read over the following requirements and instructions:
    1. Links must be non-commercial and iris related in content.
    2. Provide the full internet URL address of the website and name of organization, also include a brief, one sentence website description.
    3. Please e-mail your request to the AIS website administrator aiswebsite@hotmail.com
  • Please note that the non-commercial iris links are reviewed from time to time; listings with inactive/dead-end links are deleted; listings that are deemed to be unrelated to irises or containing elements that are commercial in nature will also be deleted.
